On Friday 14 June, the Israeli army detained a 10-year-old child during the weekly protest in Kufr Qaddum. Israeli soldiers fired tear gas canisters and sound bombs at the villagers; many local residents suffered from tear gas inhalation.

Many residents took shelter in nearby houses as army and border police forces began to fire directly at people. Several women came out from their houses to confront the soldiers, who continued to shoot indiscriminately at local youth. Many tear gas canisters were shot into houses and into the mosque, where carpets were burnt by the canisters.

This nightly terrorizing of the people of Hares and Kifl Hares by the Israeli military is constantly exacerbated by the expanding presence of the neighboring illegal settler colonies of Ariel, Revava, Yaqir, and Immanu’el. The rapid growth of these illegal settlements and their aggressive populace, known as the “Ariel finger”, threatens Hares and Kifl Hares on a daily basis.

The farmer suspects that the donkey somehow managed to release itself from the rope and the stone it had been tied to in the field, and wondered off; he then saw a man from Revava take it inside the settlement.
