Kufr Qaddum demo 03 October ’14
Palestinians go on demonstrating.
The people from Kufr Qaddum again exercised their right to protest this Friday even though the Israeli military invaded just three days earlier to “advise” the villagers not to protest.
Around 50 villagers and internationals marched after mid-day prayer towards the illegal Qedumim illegal settlement. Previously tires had been set alight and black smoke blowing towards the settlement could be seen from far away.
The army hid themselves behind olive trees in the beginning, but then started to shoot tear gas canisters and rubber-coated metal bullets. The skunk tank doused the main street and the houses nearby with the evil smelling water again and again.
Two protesters were injured by the occupation soldiers who shot rubber-coated metal bullets in their legs. Luckily one was treated and was able to come back to the demonstration while the other had to be taken to the hospital in an ambulance.
The villagers were successful in preventing the army bulldozer from entering the village and removing the stone barricades that were blocking the entrance to the village.
